New Chrysler 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Winston Salem NC for Sale in Lexington, NC
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Winston Salem NC
Brief Vehicle Overview
Formerly produced as a luxury minivan concept car, then a midsize crossover, the Chrysler Pacifica is now a minivan. And it’s likely that it will remain so, since critical acclaim has been swift and sales have been strong. Thank a vehicle that stands out from the rest of its class with its remarkable gas mileage, good looks, and generous list of standard features. The 2017 model year is the first one for the Pacifica as a minivan. It is split into LX, Touring, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited trims.
The new Chrysler Pacifica provides three rows for seating up to seven people, with a passenger volume that is measured at 165 cubic feet. The Pacifica’s manufacturer, Fiat Chrysler, uses what it calls Stow ‘n Go technology for the second- and third-row seats. That means that they can each fold flat under the floor to create more luggage space, expanding 32.3 cubic feet of standard cargo volume to 140.5 cubic feet. Plus, when both seats are upright, you can store items in the compartments underneath them. At the front, there’s 8-way power adjustability and 4-way power lumbar support on the driver’s seat, which comes with Stow ‘n Go Assist to move it for easier entry into the vehicle. On the Touring Plus, Fiat Chrysler enhances the cloth set trim, and replaces it with leather on the Touring Plus. Also, starting from the Touring Plus, the front seats can be heated. Enhancements and additions on the Touring L Plus include perforated leather seating, second-row heating, and Stow ‘n Go Assist extended to the passenger seat, which also has 8-way power adjustability and power lumbar support. On the Limited, there’s a position memory system for the driver’s seat, the third row is power-foldable, and the seats are covered in Premium Nappa leather. Standard comfort and convenience features on the 2017 Pacifica include cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone operation and audio streaming, three-zone manual temperature control, Uconnect infotainment integration, steering wheel-mounted controls, remote keyless entry, and a six-speaker audio system with a 5-inch touchscreen display. Chrysler adds a one-year SiriusXM satellite radio subscription on the Touring. On the Touring Plus, there’s a remote garage door opener, and the HVAC system is automatically (instead of manually) controlled. Remote vehicle start debuts on the Touring L. Fiat Chrysler loads the Touring L Plus with features such as a Blu-ray/DVD player, a 13-speaker 506-watt Alpine system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a six-month trial subscription to Uconnect Access for voice-activated car care services, and dual HDMI inputs. On the Limited, Chrysler adds HD Radio, a navigation system, five-year trial subscriptions to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, and an integrated vacuum cleaning system (Stow ‘n Vac).
Exterior features on the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica include high-beam daytime running lamp (DRL) accents, fold-away power heated mirrors, and halogen headlamps with turn-off time delay. On the Touring and higher, the headlights can automatically turn on and off depending on the amount of outdoor light. On the Touring Plus, exterior lighting is further enhanced by quad halogen headlamps, LED tail lamps (instead of halogen ones), and a pair of fog lights. Starting from the Touring L, the Pacifica has roof rails for added cargo carrying capacity. Exclusive to the Limited are a tri-pane panoramic moonroof, auto dimming capability on the side mirrors, LEDs instead of halogen bulbs for the fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels instead of 17-inch ones, LED signature DRL lights, and a hands-free liftgate and sliding doors.
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is equipped with an all-wheel independent suspension that comprises a MacPherson strut design at the front and a twist blade design with coil springs at the back. The one on the Limited, though, is touring-tuned to provide a softer driving feel and heightened ability to absorb the road’s imperfections. Electric power rack-and-pinion steering makes turning and twisting precise and accurate.
Powering the new Pacifica is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which produces 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is hitched to a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the minivan uses a front-wheel drivetrain.
For safety, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica gets electronic stability control; all-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with ready alert and rainy day braking; hill start assist; a rearview camera; and dual front impact, dual front occupant knee, dual side impact, and dual side curtain airbags. Choosing the Touring L trim or higher adds a sensor-based rear parking assist system and blind spot and cross path detection.
