2023 Dodge Dart: What We Know So Far

2023 Dodge Dart

Dodge is an all-American automotive brand that’s been around since 1900. For over a century, it’s consistently wowed drivers all around the world; only recently, the Challenger was named the number 1 muscle car in the US in 2021.

If you were around in the ’60s and the ’70s, then you might be familiar with the Dodge Dart. This vehicle went through four generations from 1960 to 1976. Later, it had a brief revival from 2012 until 2016. Now there is talk that Dodge will be releasing a 2023 model. Continue reading to discover everything we know so far about the 2023 Dodge Dart.

Why Was the Dodge Dart Discontinued?

The model went through several redesigns; the Dart started off as a full-size vehicle from 1960 to 1961, then was shrunk down to a mid-size car in 1962. Later, it lived out the 3rd and 4th generations as a compact car from 1963 to 1976.

In 1976, it was replaced by the Dodge Aspen F-body. The Dodge Dart (PF) became available in 2012 after the model was resurrected. Since Dodge discontinued the Neon in 2005, this was their first compact sedan since then.

Design

On its last revival, the Dodge Dart didn’t have a wonderfully attractive design. In fact, this might’ve been what doomed its sales numbers. The fact is, compact cars are being outshined by SUVs and other vehicles. So the 2023 Dodge Dart’s design needs to be not only nice, but also safe, comfortable, and roomy.

A possible design for the new Dodge Dart is a classic widebody look with double stainless exhaust pipes, and possibly interior accents. With this appearance, everyone will know you’re driving a Dodge car from a mile away. Inside, there will be plastic materials used to keep prices down. Since Dodge wants to appeal to families, the Dart will  be roomy on the inside, both in the front and the back.

Infotainment System and Other Nice Features

The 2023 Dodge Dart will feature a six inch touchscreen display with a built-in menu. If you opt for higher trims or upgrades, then an 8.4-inch touchscreen display will also be available. All Dodge vehicles have features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth, so they will also be included in the Dart. If you’re lucky, it’ll have automatic climate control too, so you and your passengers can stay nice and comfortable.

For your convenience, the 2023 Dodge Dart will have keyless entry, remote start, and push start. That way, you can warm up the car and enter without having to fumble with keys, especially if your hands are full.

Safety Features

Without good safety features, an attractive car can quickly lose its appeal. After all, safety is of utmost importance, and you want to have peace of mind whenever you’re driving around. Some key safety features that come with other 2023 Dodge cars include fog lights, a backup camera, parking sensors/assist, and side-impact airbags. Dodge will include these features (and more) on the new Dart.

Engine and Powertrain

Despite being a compact car, the 2023 Dodge Dart will highlight a Hellcat engine making it even more appealing. One of the most powerful ones available is the 6.2L supercharged V8 petrol mill — you’ll get at least 700 HP from it!

Admittedly, FCA hasn’t used this engine in many vehicles; you’ll find it in the Dodge Charger and Challenger, both of which are muscle cars. But if they release the 2023 Dodge Dart with this Hellcat engine, then it’ll be one of the most popular Dodge cars. Considering that automotive brands are turning to eco-friendly solutions, it’s very possible that the 2023 Dodge Dart may come with a hybrid or electric powertrain option.

Fuel Economy

Considering that the 2023 Dodge Dart will be a small, compact car, it’ll get good fuel economy. And in times when gas prices are ever-rising, this can be a huge relief to your wallet.

This vehicle will get approximately 23 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway, for a combined fuel economy of 27 MPG. This means the Dart isn’t a gas guzzler at all compared to other Hellcat vehicles.

Price

Historically, the Dodge Dart was offered as a lower-priced vehicle. Because it had a tough time competing with other cars (both within its own brand and outside), you can expect any Dart revival to be affordable as well.

A low price tag can perhaps give the Dodge Dart a chance at lasting throughout the years, especially if you take into account other redesign aspects.
